O Canada!
VANCOUVER
I was going on
and on about how Vancouver is the most beautiful city I've ever been to and Canadian
worn me that I shouldn't be blinded by the nice weather in the summer because
when it rains, this lovely city turns
into Canadian London.
Things to see:
Glass buildings
with reflection of the sun and mountains, surrounded by the
sea. This scenery really makes it special. Apart from that it’s a great
place to shop, have lunch, brunch, dinner or just a little maple donut and a
coffee to go in Tim Hortons.
Is a 22km long
path along Vancouver’s coast where you can get your cardio up or just enjoy the
nature and take a nice long walk by the sea on one site and Stanley Park, Granville Island or Kitsilano Beach Park on the other.
This park has a
lot to offer. You can spend a whole day walking around, reading a book or just visit one of many attractions there; aquarium, totem poles etc.

The view from Stanley Park |
You can say, “once
you've seen one, you've seen them all” but I really enjoyed this one. However
it is better to plan a visit when there is not expected to be many visitors
because it can easily get crowded.

Colourful presentation of history and a nice place to take pictures or at least that’s
what most people were doing there. It’s one of the most popular tourist attractions
in Vancouver.
This is the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning. It offers shops, art, brewery, marketplace and plenty of
food to choose from. One of my favourite moments there was sitting outside
eating and trying to protect my food from sea gulls while kids were screaming, moms were trying to take pictures of them and dads were just there, probably
thinking about the game they have to see later on that day. Somehow a musician in the middle of this chaos manage to sing a perfect song…cool, calm, and collected.
- University of
British Columbia (UBC)
Even if you are
not a student this is a must place to see in Vancouver. It’s a huge campus with everything that
average student needs and wants.
It’s a nice
beach where clothes are optional. All in all it’s a great place to hang out with
or without clothes.
For all science lovers.
For all sports enthusiasts.
The famous
Grouse grind. I did it and I will never do it again. You will never forget Vancouver
if you decide to conquer that mountain top. On the way up I went through
different stages of hating and loving this mountain but in the end it was worth
it because the view is worth the hassle.
I tried to do
as much Canadian things as possible:
- Listend,
listend and listend about hocky
- Drank caesar cocktail
- Ate poutine
- Said "thank
you" on the way out of the bus
- I probably
said "eh" by mistake some time
- Ate donut with maple syrup at Tim Hortons
Thinking back
on my bucket list…I can cross over yet another point:
10. Overdose
yourself with maple syrup in Canada.
