The weather talk
Let’s talk about the weather…since that’s what we
usually do when nothing else is going on in our lives.
I haven’t been travelling lately, except for those exciting trips to the fridge
and back. I will never forget those.
After a talk with my old friend I
realized that weather is such a grateful topic and we don’t give it enough
credit. For starters you can always talk about the weather and everyone has an
opinion about it. Starting a weather debate and finding a soul mate that likes
the same weather as you is one possibility. Another thing about the weather is that people make money out of it, not only meteorologist and weathermen on
TV but also singers, actors and other weather lovers.
Some people might think that talking
about the weather is boring, but they have never been more wrong. Weather is always changing and you can have a new and exciting conversation
every day. There are not a lot of other topics that can handle that kind of pressure.
Weather can!
Since this blog is about traveling and
sharing experiences from my trips I can give you one advice...if you find
yourself in a really awkward situation surrounded with a bunch of strangers,
talk about the weather. It’s a great conversation starter and it’s not age, religion
or sex sensitive.
No one likes talking about the weather more than my
grandma. It came to the point that she doesn’t ask me how I feel anymore but
demands a weather report from the time period of our last conversation. She
somehow gained the ability to predict person’s well-being according to the
climate they live in. So to become more advanced on this topic you can
frequently talk to your elderly relatives or read some research done on this
field. Otherwise I think we all have that one friend who always updates a
Facebook status when weather changes and that so called weather master is a
person to go to when you are in need of a weather talk.
And here is a quote about the weather just to
prove my point:
